Feuilleton Editor-in-Chief of Ulm’s “Südwest Presse”, Jürgen Kanold, writes about the remarkable exhibition “Alexander Kluge – die Macht der Musik” in Ulm. Together with Edgar Reitz, Alexander Kluge established the Department of Film at the “Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Ulm”, the famous Ulm School of Design. The current exhibition is supported by the KULTURSTIFTUNG DES BUNDES and resulted from a co-operation of KUNSTHALLE WEISHAUPT and MUSEUM ULM. The conference of the Association for the Promotion of German and International Science Law on 7 and 8 March 2019 in Berlin (on the first day in the rooms of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities) was devoted to these issues. About the Author: The research interests of PD Dr. Margrit Seckelmann cover the fields of Public Law, Legal History, Legal Theory, Administrative Sciences and, namely, the regulation of new technologies. Quality and Protection of Confidence - Qualität und Vertrauensschutz

Sigrun Löwisch

Languages: German

DOI: 10.17160/josha.6.10.608

For patients and psychotherapists, the passing of the Psychotherapists Act by the Bundestag and the Busdesrat is good news. The understanding between the coalition and the opposition in this matter, which has been controversial for almost 20 years, is also proof of the ability of Germany's much criticized politicians to act. It shows that it is also possible to drill thick boards if the Bundesrat enters into a fact-oriented discussion and the Länderkammer is not misused as a pure blockade instrument. Sigrün löwisch is a German politician of the CDU. She was a member of the German Bundestag from 1991 to 1998.

Erleben wir eine Renaissance des Lamarckismus? - Are we experiencing a renaissance of Lamarckism?

Horst Kress

Languages: German

DOI: 10.17160/josha.6.8.596

In the preceding second essay on the Renaissance of Lamarckism (JOSHA Journal Vol. 4, Issue 6) we were able to follow how the Sutton-Boveri chromium moment theory of inheritance achieved a grandiose breakthrough through the works in the fly-room of T. H. Morgan with the help of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. By 1935 it had finally become clear that genes in chromosomes are strung together like pearls. However, the question of how to imagine the material and functional properties of these mysterious pearls remained unanswered. However, biologists and geneticists were unable to answer this question with the means at their disposal in the form of cytological analyses or crossings. In particular, it was unclear where intellectual levers could be used for further progress, which would inevitably lead to the invisible world of molecular dimensions.

Short Story: Die Hochzeit - The wedding

Zazie-Charlotte Pfeiffer

Languages: German

DOI: 10.17160/josha.6.7.589

The poetess Zazie-Charlotte Pfeiffer was part of the beautiful night at the DEMETRIOS Prize award 2019. She was performing with one of her incredible stories. She also has been awarded several times for her wonderful stories! "Mila had never seen so many white frills in her whole life. She was more than sure that it was unnatural for so many white frills to gather in the same place. They queued around the bouquets of pink peonies, took almost every piece of furniture they had and even found their way into the clothes and especially into the hairstyles of the assembled people in such a terribly self-evident way. When had anyone thought up this thing - this thing with the white frills? When had anyone decided that white frills were good for cakes, hair, sashes, chair backs or flower bouquets on special occasions?"

DEMETRIOS PRIZE 2019! Die Darstellung des intergenerationellen Traumas im Film La teta asustada von Claudia Llosa - The Representation of Intergenerational Trauma in the Film La teta asustada by Claudia Llosa

Yasemin Soydan

Languages: German

DOI: 10.17160/josha.6.7.582

One of the winners, Yasemin Soydan, from Germany explains Media are used to (re)construct memories and to create a historical consciousness. They tell the events of a country or of a person's life and recall past experiences. In addition, the ignorant are enlightened. (Cinema) films are a particularly popular medium because they can portray the past in a different way than, for example, political science or history. The author is interested in South American history, because in comparison to the history of the Federal Republic of Germany, for example, it has by far not been discussed so often and intensively, nor has it been filmed.
