Phonological stress in the Arabic language: a computational study " pattern Af ‘al case study "

This study was organized into two levels: theoretical and applied. The theoretical level discussed the phenomenon of the Stress in the Arabic language, and its effect on the meaning, then identified the view of the ancients in the stress way to the rules of the modernists to identify the stressed syllable during the speech. For the applied level, I have selected samples in the morphological pattern ’af‘al, Using PRAAT program, a program designed to assess sound waves and their frequencies . to identify the three levels of stress (length, strength, frequency) that have become the three main defining factors of stressed syllable in a word.
