The fairy tale ''The daughter of the businessman'' is an Iranian folktale which has been delivered orally from one generation to another in various versions. This fairy tale was in fact made popular by the famous Iranian story-teller Fazlollah Mohtadi, known as ''Sobhi'' in ''Diwan Balkh''and from Samad Behranghi in ''the fairy tales from Azerbaijan'' and it has been delivered in various versions with different titles. The fairy tale revolves around a beautiful, clever, brave and confident girl who defends herself all alone against prejudice and abuse. She embarks on a long, dangerous and an adventurous journey. At the end, she manages to prove the truth and defend herself.
